Mattew Macklin confirmed he will fight  former WBA light middleweight champion Joachim Alcine  at the Thomas and Mack Arena in Las Vegas on Sept 15.

Macklin will swap punches with the  36 year old ‘Ti-Joa’ in the chief support to Julio Cesar Chavez’s must anticipated clash with Sergio Martinez.

Emerge from that bout unscathed and according to promoter Lou DiBella, Macklin could be in line to enact Irish revenge on Chavez whether the Mexican comes through Martinez with his WBC title or not.
