Hearn asks fans to help him make Frampton a superstar
By Jonny Stapleton
EDDIE Hearn has called on Irish fight fans to help him create a boxing ‘superstar’ they can rejoice in.
In Belfast’s Carl Frampton the promoter thinks he has a fighter with all the tools to ascend to the top of the pro ladder, but believes the general public need to come out in force and become an important if extended part of Team Frampton.
‘The Jackal’ sinks his teeth into Kiko Martinez, topping his first Odyssey Arena bill in a mouth watering European title and the Matchroom boss is confident with a large home support Frampton can over come his toughest test to date.
Hearn claims Frampton is a unique talent and said with the backing of the people of Ireland and particularly Belfast he become a real star of the game.
“Carl has a golden chance to become a genuine superstar in Irish, British and World boxing. We rate him very very highly and as a fighter he has it all. He has the looks, the personality, he carries himself impeccably, he is a role model and more importantly he is a
great great fighter,” Hearn said.
“Now we really want the whole of Ireland, the whole of Britian and even the whole of Europe to get behind this guy and push him over the line. Lets get behind him so he can achieve what we all believe he can. We have a real opportunity to create a superstar in Belfast all over again I call on the people to get behind Carl Frampton because we
believe we have something special here. We will see just how special he is on September 22. This is going to be an incredible fight. It is going to be an iconic night of Irish boxing.
Frampton’s manager Irish Boxing legend, Barry McGuigan has championed his protégé’s talents regularly and now he wants the people of Belfast to come out in force and witness what the undefeated Commonwealth Champion can do first hand.
“Boxing is really flying her again and I believe Frampton is a special talent and I hope you all turn out in force on September 22.”
