Frampton partakes in Martinez scouting mission tonight
By Jonny Stapleton
CARL Frampton will be taking notes ringside tonight as his next opponent Kiko Frampton fights in Belfast.
The Spaniard puts his European title on the line against The Jackal in the Odyssey on September 22, but will give Frampton a live preview of his talents as he partakes in a ’keep busy bout’ on an exciting Emerald Road House bill.
The Belfast super bantamweight thinks Martinez would be better served having a tough sparring session than fighting journey man Dougie Curran, but is happy to go Martinez weakness spotting tonight.
“I will go and watch him. I don’t know how much I am going to take from it because Dougie Curran, without being disrespectful, is not up to the level of Kiko Martinez. I don’t know if there is much sense in that fight actually taking place. I think he would have been better
with a good hard sparring session. It is a bonus for me in terms of seeing him and it is good for ticket sales and building the hype,” Frampton explained.
