Coyle returns to Mayo- Murray returns to the ring
By Jonny Stapleton
Henry Coyle will ensure boxing returns to the West on August 17 and will top a card that sees an Andy Murray ring return.
Coyle returns home for the first time since he won the WBF super middleweight title last November and puts his title on the line against a yet to be named opponent.
The Mayo puncher, with the help of a quality under card, packed out The Royal Theatre in Castlebar and sparked joyous celebrations when he won the not so prestigious WBF title, and Team Coyle will be hoping for a repeat this time round.
Coyle’s last Irish bout was also broadcast on TG4 and this show could prove a real boost to a stagnant pro game in the south of the country.
The card also see’s Andy Murray fight for the first time since he lost out in a European title bout with Gavin Rees in June of last year.
‘The Quiet Man’ has been silent since the reverse, but will begin on the path back to European level in the West next month.
