By Jonny Stapleton
JULIO Cesar Chavez Jr has never tastes the kind of power that Andy Lee will serve up on June 16, according to the Limerick fighters legendary trainer Emanuel Steward.
Indeed the Kronk boss believes the Mexican has yet to trade leather with a fighter that possess the same skill set and talent as the Irish middleweight favourite.
Lee takes on the undefeated son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez for the right to be called WBC middleweight champion of the World in ten days time. Chavez Jr is favourite to retain his crown, but EL Paso the venue and the fact he is well protected are the strongest attributes on his trump card.
Steward, however believes Chavez Jr will need protective armour to prevent him from feeling the power of Lee and hinted at a potential for the former Olympian..
Steward said to fightsaga.com “If you could only see some of Andy’s sparring matches with Adonis. They’ve been incredible. Their rounds together have been more entertaining than almost everything you see on TV…Andy is easily the most accomplished fighter and probably the hardest puncher Chavez’s ever had to meet.”
