No excuses for defeated Lee
ANDY Lee isn’t looking for excuses and has taken his defeat to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on the chin.
The Limerick fighter attempted to unbuckle the WBC middleweight title from around the waist of the Mexican in Texas last Saturday, but was eventually was stopped by ‘the son of the legend’.
Chavez Jr proved to strong and bullied the Irish fighter into submission. However, the champ’s most impressive career victory was tainted by rumours the Mexican failed to take an anti doping test post fight.
The Texas Commission have since confirmed Top Ranks cash cow did provide a sample for testing post fight, but fights fans are still baffled at how Chavez Jr put on 20 pounds between weigh in and fight.
Lee, however is one to look for excuses and praised his defeater after the clash.
“No excuses he is a good fighter,” Lee said. “I couldn’t hold him off. He was just to big and too strong. My punches had no effect on him. He just walked through them. He is a big middleweight.”
