More Katie Taylor Tunes hit the airwaves
BY Jonny Stapleton
ALL time world great Katie Taylor is becoming a record making as well as a record breaking hit in Ireland.
Taylor Mania set in when the Bray fighter cemented her place as a female boxing great by collecting her fourth successive World championship gold medal and securing her place in the Olympics recently.
The country has fallen in love with the talented Olympic hopeful and fittingly Taylor has been immortalised in song.
Indeed, Taylor is amassing a better record collection that Larry Gogan and has become the inspiration behind three songs. We brought you Coddle’s ‘Katie Taylor Song’ last month, but two more artists have decided to pay musical homage to the first lady of Irish boxing.
Temper-Mental MissElayneous has written a rap song to mark Taylor’s Olympic journey- here is ‘Step in the Ring’
Going the more traditional route are The Corrigan Brothers as the pay tribute the Irish boxing great with ‘Come On Katie Taylor”.
