Katie Taylor studied at St. Killian’s Community School in Bray, Co. Wicklow. She started boxing in 1998, aged just 12. She is coached by her father Peter. He is also a successful amateur boxer.

She is now the current Irish, European and World women’s Boxing Champion. She is also Ireland’s Olympic medal hopeful for London 2012.
