RTE to Broadcast Katie Taylor’s World Championship Semi-Final

RTÉ Sport is set to broadcast exclusive coverage of Katie Taylor’s World Boxing Championship semi-final fight in China on Friday morning at 8.00am on RTÉ Two television and streamed live on RTÉ.ie.

Taylor was due to fight in the quarter-finals of the 7th AIBA World Women’s Championships and Olympic qualifiers in Qinhuangdao, China this morning but was granted a walkover after her opponent withdrew injured. With her path to the London Olympics now guaranteed the Bray fighter is looking to retain her World Championship title for the fourth time in a row.

Presenter Darragh Maloney will be joined in studio by Bernard Dunne and Mick Dowling for analysis of all the action with Jimmy Magee providing the commentary.

 

If the Irish boxer’s success continues and she progresses to the finals,RTÉ Television will also broadcast a further programme on Saturday morning on RTÉ Two and streamed live on RTÉ.ie.

 

RTÉ Sport News reporter Paul O’Flynn will continue to report from China on Katie’s progress, with interviews and features across news bulletins and Morning Ireland.
