McCloskey vows to fight on
By Jonny Stapleton
Paul McCloskey has denied rumours he is planing to hang up his gloves and declared his intention to return to the ring. The Derry stylist suffered a career low last Saturday night as he was stopped by 37 year old DeMarcos Corley.
‘Chop Chop’ literally yelled ‘timber’ in the Kings Hall as he sent the Irish favourites lofty world title dreams crashing to the ground. Indeed McCloskey’s promoter Eddie Hearn warned the former European champion a return to domestic or Continental level will be on the cards if he does make a September return.
The press also questioned what the future holds for the former world title challenger, but McCloskey declared his desire to carry on via Twitter.
“I’ll be back, recharging the batteries with some much needed family time.”
