British Champ Selby would fight Lindsay in Belfast

Lee Selby is would have no problem putting his British and Commonwealth titles on the line against Martin Lindsay in Belfast.

The Barry fighter registered his fourth consecutive stoppage win last night, halting Patrick Okine in Newport.

The rejuvenated 25 year old now wants the Lonsdale belt and is targeting a third successive British title fight victory later this year. Lindsay will be out on Matchroom’s September 8 Belfast show and with Eddie Hearn’s desire to put on a massive card he could attempt to tempt Selby to Ireland.

Speaking to Boxing News Selby revealed he is open to travelling and fighting the former British strap holder.

“I would like a Lonsdale belt and my mandatory is up next. I am unsure who is it but there is some good fighters in the division such as Stephen Smith, Martin Lindsay and Joe Murray. I would oblige any of them. Fighting away doesn’t bother me. I would fight Martin Lindsay in Belfast.”
