Who should fill the void left by Hefferon’s Prizefighter withdrawl

Ever since Eddie Hearn announced on Irish Boxing Radio that he was planning an all Irish middleweight version of  knockout, knockout tournament Prizefighter, an epidemic spread rapidly.

Worst effected were Irish fighters and their teams as they clamoured to ensure the Matchroom boss didn’t  just scribble their names on the potential list, but printed it on the official Prizefighter roll.

Certain super middleweights and even light heavyweights were spotted at Weight Watchers. Those of the light middleweight persuasion set about dinning out at fast food restaurants.

Some promised  action and excitement with the same passion and verve as a pre election politician promises tax cuts.

Hearn confirmed he had 16 names on his Prizefighter shopping list, but set about  decreasing  to eight- in very impressive fashion.

The promoter choose a Prizefighter menu to wet the appetite of Irish fight fans.

Anthony Fitzgerald, Joe Rea, Eammon O’Kane, Simon O’Donnell, Mark Hefferon, Darren Cruise, Ryan Greene and JJ McDonnagh made up probably the best Prizefighter line up ever.

Mark Hefferon however, has pulled out and the clamour to replace him has begun. Lee Murtagh, Ciaran Healy, Joe Hillerby, sub Alan Donnellan, Dennis Hogan and a number of other fighters will be on Prizefighter alert.

WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE TOURNAMENT AND WHY??? COMMENT BELOW.
